Below is a list of commonly asked questions about our company, product and process. We constantly update this page, so if you have a question that is not found on this page, please feel free to contact us and we will add it to our list below. We will be glad to assist you.

How long has Westnofa been around?
Originally founded in 1957, we are one of Canada’s largest commercial / contract furniture manufacturers. Operating from two modern production plants with over 150 people employed in production, many with old world knowledge and experience.

Do you manufacture custom designs?
Yes. 70% of our production is generated from custom designed products developed to suit an end user’s specific requirements. Each custom order is retained in CAD form on disc and can be reproduced as required.

Can I modify existing styles?
Yes. We are very flexible and can modify existing styles, whether you want to scale a unit in size, or configuration or produce complete custom order for projects as small as forty rooms.

Are your products made in North America?
All our products are produced in North America and not off shore. We have two divisions, RADIX which services our U.S. market and Westnofa of Canada, which services the same market in Canada. Products are built for these two divisions where it is most cost efficient and distributed through both divisions as orders require.

What if I can’t find a suitable design?
If you do not see a style that is suitable for your space, please send us line drawings, sketches written specifications, etc, and we would be pleased to provide you with a competitive price quotation.

How long are delivery times?
Most orders can be delivered within twelve (12) weeks of order placement; however we have the flexibility to produce to shorter time frames on occasion.

Do you use plastic laminate? If so, what colors to do you offer?

We will employ the plastic laminate that you specify. Whether you choose to select from the standard patterns and colors available from Wilsonart, Nevamar, Arborite, or Pionite in their standard matte or velour finishes or from one of their more designer patterns and finishes.

Do you use hardwood?
Yes. We will manufacture from the hardwood species of your choice. Maple, Oak, Birch, Cherry, Mahogany, Teak, Walnut, Alder Lyptus, or any of the other species that we have worked with in the past ten years.

What finishes do you offer?
We will provide the finish that you prefer, from standard catalytic lacquers in custom matched stains to solid color lacquers and crackle finishes.





What hardware do you use in your furniture?

We will use the hardware that you prefer. We supply hardware from Keeler Brass, Liberty, Hettich, Continental Brass, Belwith-Keeler, Hafele, Onward, and others.

What are the quotations based on? How is the pricing determined?

All pricing is by quotation and is based upon style, wood species, finish, quantities, and delivery required.

Is there a minimum quantity per order?

We do have minimum quantities, i.e. forty (40) pieces in casegoods or tables within the same series based on standard products, forty (40) rooms based on custom designed products.

How similar are production batches?

All products are drawn on CAD programs that are connected to the latest state of the art CNC equipment in the shop, every piece is manufactured identically. All orders are kept on file digitally and can be reproduced as and when required.

How durable is the furniture against damage?
The tops and drawer faces to nightstands, dressers, desks and tables are easily removable by property staff should you need to replace them due to vandalism or accidental damage. This keeps the furniture in use for more years, reducing future capital cost expenditures.

Do you do millwork as well?

Yes. If you are looking at extensive renovations, we can enlist our sister company, Phoenix Woodwork & Interiors Ltd., for custom millwork (cabinets, reception desks, mouldings, doors, wall paneling).
